The drug addict is a strange creature… you know one, right. That kid of yours, your sister’s kid, or the wino down by the super market with the cardboard sign, begging. You know god-damned well that if you give them any money at all, that they will just take up old ways. Once a drug addict, always a drug addict.
America is pretty-much in the same condition. America is addicted to spending. Really, it is the American leaders that we, for some unknown reason, keep electing to that house, or the senate, but it is an extension of you, after all, America. They are strung-out on debt. They get the shakes when they are cut off from “credit” or the generation of “debt.” They get all pissy, and threaten things if they can’t get a fix of debt. Marshal Law, riots in the streets, financial Armageddon, better give me my fix mother-f**ker!
The worst part is that their pusher, The Federal Reserve bank is authorized to counterfeit as much paper as the addict needs to cover their habit. It is like having the crack dealer living in a spare room at the addict’s house… bad, bad, bad. Of course, the dealer managed to get the title to the house, so what the f**k; “Dude, I got what you need right here…” “…anytime you need it.” “You need a pipe? Some Brillo? A lighter?””
I know, I know, we have all struggled with what to do, how to handle the drug addicts in our lives… do we give in, or do we show them “tough-love?” I know tough-love is hard, you have to cut the addict off, let them skin their knees, let ‘em hit “rock bottom.” It has to be done, it’s the only way. Until they bounce along the asphalt for a bit, the pain of their addiction is all too acceptable, well until the rocks are coming up fast.
The Congress, the Senate and the President all need this country’s “Tough-Love.” And they need it soon. You know it ain’t going to get any better until you do.
